Research Interests

I did my thesis work on incoherent scatter measurements of the high latitude D-region, early 1993. (see e.g. Turunen E., EISCAT incoherent scatter radar observations and model studies of day to twilight variations in the D-region during the PCA event of August 1989, J. Atmos. Terr. Phys., 55, 4/5, 767-781, 1993). In addition to running for many years the ionosonde of the SGO, which is today taken care of by Thomas Ulich, my current research interests include: I am in the happy position to work together with the following group of young talented scientists and the experienced staff of the Aeronomy group at SGO - see their home pages: Please, take a look at SGO's long term data sets!

If you are more freetime interested, why don't you select another site?

I show only one photograph, about my favourite burden, a backpack, which is small enough for jogging.
