Equatorial Ionospheric Physics Unit
The major focus of the research includes characterizing the longitudinal and temporal variations of equatorial ionospheric scintillation in Africa by using measurements from all available GPS networks in the region. Moreover, the physics of equatorial ionosphere is studied including investigation of the associated GPS position errors and a possible correction algorithm. We use magnetometer, VLF receiver and pulsation magnetometer data collected in Ethiopia in addition to measurement we obtain from other places.
